RAT PACK

**The original founder of the Rat Pact was Mr. Safeway- Humphrey Deforest Bogart or
Clara Boop Brooks Georgi Navy/Army Project Vet Dole. Ha! Some of Mr. Bogart's sidekicks and accomplices inescapably emerged into the Clan.**

Introduction - In the late 1950's, the original founder of the Rat Pact, Humphrey Bogart passed away. And one of the paramount members of the Bogart pack was Frank Sinatra.

The thronging, stirring and dyed Sinatra (permanently bald now) ultimately renamed the pack-
The Chan. Everyone rattled why? Everybody knew them as the clan. Well okay- it's a
typographical error.

Nothwithstanding, a codified and gripping realization materializes. Via the 1990's.
Though I never met the real Mr. Bogart or did I?, his original gang and subsequent offspring (clan) passed my way.

Anyway I was raised during the turbulent wild '60's. The Anne Klein, Jayne Mansfield, Josephine Premise (she's 1 of the Broadway Asociation'sfinest- in 1976 we sat table. . .) Michael Clark Landry (using name rockefeller/grofman) [Austin Powers] and Ernie Kovacs sixties.

Subsequently and transpring the above, it seems generation after generation, there is constant reminder of the other prevalent clusters of stars. Yes- the other predominant converged stra, of the last era- The Rat Pack.

Regardless of age and in spite of the prevailing meaning of the idiom, the Rat Pack continues to premeate the public's conscience. . . Now for some unexplored reason, I often wondered the historical influence of the Rat Pack.

Maybe some of you grew up or prehaps none of you matured. Like the award winners-

Reminiscing as a kid, what it would be like, as an honored member of the famed troupe.
I know I did. . .

Gosh! Oh- Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop!

Gee! Oh- Sam "the cheerful" Giancana, Johnny "the swooner" Roselli, Jimmy "the Weasel"!

Phantasim? Why yes!

I must confess as an only child, these guys (Davis, Sinatra, Bishop, Martin, Lawford) were my natural parallel in childhood playacts.

I.e. 1950's, around 2 or 3 years old , I was captivated with the tv series, the Thin Man. Starring
Phyllis Kirk and Lawford. Phil & Pat in the trade.

I'd pranced to the tv screen, dart back and scream, "come here little doogie!"- referring to the other star - Asta.

Impersonated my then role models to the hilt. Yeah!

Raging telethermoscope songster Dean Martin.

The record say my favorite Martin, was born on June 7, 1917 in Stubenville, Ohio. Not Italy.
Trilingual, but dumb he spoke. . .

In the middle 19940's "The Red Hot Yiddish Mama" alias Sophie Tucker [Lucianne Goldberg's , Taz H. Taylor & Big Ann Skakel's look alike] was responsible for the intros -Dino meeting Jerry. The regal intro made at a frequented clulb in Atlantic City. . .

In 1957 martin had a different calling. Engaged a very triumphant solo act. In 1959 he pestered
me (I was 4!).

For some glorious sense to me Martin complained re: his career - he'd reached into our gold edged ice pail adorned with soused humorous characters .

Like one ice pail section depicted a tipsy quarter-witted woman (hindsight a strong Eunice Shriver- jack's twin- resemblance) holding a half split galss declaring - "No more for me - I get
to passionate" .

So by 1960 I was sooo elated when Dino co-starred in the motion picture Bells are Ringing.
Funny girl.

Believe it or not Mr. Ripley- Julie Styne and I age (2) co-wrote not only the showstopper- The party's over- but my favoritite tune - Drop That Name cause it mentions Lassie at least 90 times.

Now to . . . no one can take it from ya, Sammy. Except his eyes. Certainly as a tot, I'd cut it on the dance floor and did Bette Davis, Honi Coles, Caesar romero better than him.

Sammy born in harlem, NY 1925 ventured into the entertainment field at the tender of 3. By the age of sixish (6) he began his true vocation and performed on the road, as a member of the Will Mastin trio.

The group - together for so long-jazz great Jimmy Rushing-Mr. Santa Claus listen to my plea- formed & disbanded an orchestra within seconds.

The group together for so long -already-Little Sammy burst. Ensuing the miraculous break, and a little off- Davis happily purchased a fleet of flaming colored Trailway buses.

Okay chaps! Mr. Salt Peter. Excuse me- Mr. Salt & Pepper.

Yep, the renowned Peter Lawford.

Now Peter invaded Earth during the septembersow season- in 1923. Notwithstanding Mr. Lawford was a movie star & political consultant.

Unbeknownst to many arriving to the planet in 1954, he married public relations specialist -
Ester Newberg (sic).

The famed Ms. Newberg manufactered a starring role in an oscar winning film- All about Eve.
(Actually she was Eve's wicked stepsisters rolled into one- Gin Walsh, LindaLucy Bird Johnson,
Hillary Diane Rodham).

Lawford married Patricia Kennedy in 1954!

Following the nuptial, Peter's mother & Pat's mother- Lady Lawford and Countess Rose- performed "Mammy" and danced the Black Bottom.

The next arhetype? Christened Authentically: Joseph Abraham Gottlieb. Born: February 3, 1918. Location? Good question.

Now last but not least- New Jersey's own, Francis Albert Sinatra. Actually he was born on the biyou at night in Malta. How bout Italy not Hoboken!

Born 10 months (1915) after the Birth of the Blues? On the contrary.

Born after the Birth of the Nation - shown in Washington D.C.- while J. Edgar Hoover feast
on clams, rebel yell, pigfeet, & my so called ex. Clyde Tolson watched & stopped to regain his comporsue.. .

Directly imitation of ole blue eyes was the same as Martin's- except I sung "High Hopes" straight.

As a youngster received cash gifts from the famed one. Via Kid Landre. The kid handed over the dough - wearing false eyelashes.

Accompanied by the Wally Warfield's python knockled croced clan - 1 - Exxon/Mobil's , & New York City's Gale A. Brewer & 2- Guiness/Hyatt's, Bovis', & New York State's - Ruth LiverMessinger Ratti wearing something. . . [this happened ages before the transgender
law- illegalities maybe ?]

Nevertheless I'd take the $5.00 or $10.00 worth of quarters and use it.

Yeah- Uncle Albert was extremely generous. Missed it but generous.
In 1961 he formed a recording company/label. In my face & Sam "the cheerful's ".
The swooner couldn't make it. Signing closer cohort(s) - Davis & Martin.

As the annotaed, elevated & upright clan heir prompts me to choose another principle female lead Rat Packer.

The created choice - Richmond, Va. & Baltimore, Md. 's - Shirley McLean Beatty.

Well they're Chans ain't they? No- they're rats.

Literally it was a toss up. Shirley or Windsor Castle/James Palace/Kennsington Palace. Shirley or India. Shirley or Tony Blair or Corfu. Or Shirley. (all the same to moi).

THE RAT PACK: A BRIEF HISTORY

The fable began with the truest, the dearest, the unemotional, the liberal minded and the staunched supporter of Elenor Rooservelt and Adali Ewing Stevenson (2 time presidential loser).

This folk tale started when yes the legend of his time: Sir Humphrey Deforest Bogart, met the mighty Al Jolson on a frezin' eve. In a Bowery detox room.

Envoy A. Harriman gave them the pass key.

Marking years later- the 1990's- Pamela Harriman gave her keys to William Jefferson Blythe Landry. OOH. and now

New York City - 1959 . The late Duke of Windsor (former king edward viii) presented 2 unknowns to me- John Lennon & Brian Epstein & subsequently the other unknowns George, Paul including Peter Best. Ringo after Best.

The initial offering (ha!) so to speak or introduction made outside of 2 well known NYC landmark establishments at the time - Monsignore Restaurant & the Friars Club on East 55th Street between Madison & Park Avenues.

In other words the so-called "British Invasion" was initiated & started by American moi - I was 5 years old. Created the coined phrase (someone had to) ; created the group's name.

**Ditto-Re: The Aussies: The Gibb boys (originally from England) were 1st. Subsequently others e.g. - well- Peter Allen- Judy Garland (or Ms. Gumms to you) presented Peter to me. . .

The above factoid reminds me of a line from the song I'm Every Woman by Ms. Kahn- to paraphrase - I'm not bragging or don't want to brag or nothin '. . .

Funniest thing though - Above info sent (telephoned, fax, return receipts) starting year 1994 to the Printing Press I.e. - Ruppert Murdoch/Post, Mort Zukerman/Stanley Crouch (Daily News) , Richard Parsons (TWAOL), NHK (Japan), Sam Weiss (NYT), Reuters, BBC & other reporters/news agencies.

Mind you the entertainment business was not my profession yet thrust upon me . . . yet pleased my majestic mother & my participation brought eclectic (sic) pleasures to the inhabitants of planet earth. . .
